Who runs HungaryMedPrep? Do you have reviews?
HungaryMedPrep is run by Prepalio International B.V., a private limited company registered in the Netherlands at Honingerdijk 85A01, 3063 AK Rotterdam. Its Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number is 42134936, so you can check it in the Dutch business register. We are not part of Semmelweis University or the University of Debrecen, and we are not an agent: you apply to each university yourself. HungaryMedPrep is new, so it has no reviews yet. Questions? Are there Semmelweis or Debrecen past papers or sample tests?
Semmelweis publishes official topic lists. When we last read its admission FAQ, it listed no sample test. YouTube "past papers" are questions applicants remember, and applicants in 2026 disagree on how close they are.
Debrecen publishes no past papers, but it does publish official sample tests. The university publishes a sample test for Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each sample has two parts. Each part opens with 10 multiple-choice questions with five options, A to E, and one correct answer. Short written tasks with points follow, such as naming a labelled figure or a calculation. The samples state no time limit, no total score and no pass mark. They do not say the real paper has the same number of questions. Most applicants from 2023 to 2026 say the real biology paper is much harder than the sample.

Is the Semmelweis or Debrecen entrance exam hard?
Both go beyond school level. Semmelweis calls its lists medical biology and medical chemistry. They include allostery, kinase cascades and reduction potentials. Debrecen recommends US university textbooks. In applicant reports from 2023 to 2026, biology is the hard part at both schools. Tick the free checklist to see your own gaps.
When do I need to apply for 2027 entry?
Debrecen: Apply by 15 May 2027 for September 2027 entry. The university says the application period opens later this year. Medicine and Dentistry can close early when many people apply, as they did for September 2026 entry, so apply early.
Semmelweis: Not published yet. Last year (2026): Applications were open from 12 January to 31 May 2026. The university says exams are held once or twice a week, from early February to the end of June. You get the dates after you apply, and you book one on SEMAPHOR, the university's online portal. For 2027, check the programme page. In April 2026, applicants on Reddit found the online slots full after paying.
Can I go back and change an answer in the Semmelweis test? Is there negative marking?
No going back: the official rule is that you answer in the given order. A 2026 applicant on Reddit said skipped questions could not be reached again. Wrong answers cost part of a point. Our tip: an answer you can narrow down is a better bet than a blind guess.
Is the oral an interview about motivation, or a real biology and chemistry exam?
Both, at Semmelweis: an interview with an oral exam on your subjects. At Debrecen, there is an oral exam in biology and your second subject. Applicants report questions like these:
- The pH of a solution (Semmelweis, 2024)
- A dilution calculation and enzyme graphs (Semmelweis, 2025)
- Draw and label the heart (Debrecen, 2025)

What is the pass mark?
Semmelweis: A correct answer is worth one point. A wrong answer loses part of a point, but the university does not say how much. No pass mark is published. Your score alone does not decide. A committee looks at the tests, the interview, your school grades, your motivation and your spoken English. It also weighs the university's own aims, such as diversity and gender balance.
Debrecen: Scores are for internal use only, and you are not told yours. The university looks at your overall performance. There are four outcomes: a first-year place, a place on the Basic Medicine Course (a preparatory course), rejection, or an offer of a different programme.
Do I need IELTS or another English certificate?
Semmelweis: No English certificate is asked for. English is tested inside the exam: two of the four written tests are English tests. Your spoken English is checked at the interview.
Debrecen: The entrance exam page asks for no separate English certificate. The exam itself is in English. Check Debrecen's application page for its certificate rules before you apply.
Can a parent pay?
